MCO was founded in 1983 by Ann McNeill, on the heels of the McDuffie Race Riots in Miami, Florida.  MCO is a 100% African American-Woman owned and operated state licensed and insured general contractor.


In the earlier years, MCO performed the majority of its work as a general contractor as a second-tier subcontractor mostly in the concrete and drywall trades to large first tier contractors such as Baker Concrete and Lotspeich.


With this business model MCO’s work included approximately 98% public sector projects, and flourished under government Set-Aside programs.  MCO’s major projects at the time included City of West Palm Beach Administration Building, (West Palm Beach, FL), the American Airlines Arena, (Miami, FL), and FEMA Canal Sediment Hauling and Dredging (Miami, FL).


In the early 2000s, MCO changed its business model and began to focus on providing “soft” construction services to Program Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers and Architects. These project control services supplement MCO’s client’s project management team. These services include estimating, scheduling, inspection, document control, administrative support and project management personnel such as project managers, project engineers, project coordinators and superintendents.


With this business model MCO’s project roster includes the Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, Miami Dade Children’s Courthouse, Marlins Ball Park, MIA South Terminal Expansion Program, MIA North Terminal Expansion Project and Miami-Dade Aviation Department Miscellaneous Construction Contract. MCO also works on both the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department and Miami Dade Water and Sewer Department’s Capital Improvement Programs.


Headquartered in Miami, Florida with offices also in Broward County, Palm Beach County and Atlanta, Georgia, MCO currently has approximately 30 employees.  MCO’s mission is to empower our team to provide exceptional services to our clients.
